Montebello Barnyard Zoo

Last week I took the kids to the Montebello Barnyard Zoo with some friends. Jack and Maren rode the carousel together.

It was a little carousel and was in definite need of some music.

Jack was just staring around the whole time, but Maren's face full of excitement made the ride totally worth every penny. Here you can get a feel for her enjoyment. She was thrilled!

Turtle.

More turtle.

Cow.

This was by far my favorite animal. Jack even fed the zebra.

My favorite part was when I went over to pet the zebra and the zebra started chomping on a little kid's shirt....hehehe.

Pig.

Birds.

Daisy loved to splash in the puddles. She's such a free spirit, wandering wherever her little feet take her.

Look at those horns.

He had to turn his head all over and work at getting his horns through the bars.

After the zoo, we went to a playground that was next door.

Swingin'.

They had a water playground that the kids were just aching to play in. I, being unprepared for that, just stripped Daisy down and borrowed a swimmer.

And Jack just played in his clothes.

My kiddos LOVE water.

Naked.

Jack was eyeing this water gun the whole time we were there. It was always occupied by a kid until a few minutes before we were leaving. Jack finally got his turn and loved turning the water on all the other kids.

What We Do When Stuck at Home

The other day we were stuck at home with no where to go...no car and no stroller = no where. The kids and I were starting to go crazy. I thought, 'what did I love to do when I was little?' And the answer came. So I pulled out a bunch of blankets and all our pillows and we played in the living room with them. It was a good ol' time. We made pillow towers and jumped on them. I rolled the kids up like burritos.

There was a lot of running...

and rolling...

and of course Superwoman...

and Superman!

Batman Vs. Tomato Vine

Bet you never considered that a tomato vine
could actually be a ruthless villain.
Don't worry. Batman will fight the battle!

Gloves, Rosies, and Belly

Jack found Michael's glove stash for school.

He had fun figuring out how to get it on.

We played Ring Around the Rosies this morning.

I had a doctor appointment yesterday. Due date is back to November 1st. Yay! Not that it really matters because the baby will come when the baby wants to come regardless of the due date. but it makes me feel better.

(So far this is the only pic I have that shows my prego-ness this time around)

At 24 weeks, I'm feeling pretty good. Morning sickness only occasionally disturbs me (it's stuck around longer this time around) and it's usually in the evenings. My cravings include 7-11 slurpees and anything else that's cold, icy, and sweet. We eat popsicles on a regular basis in this household. :) I am definitely showing pretty well now, but I'm not huge yet. I did, however catch myself waddling yesterday and had to consciously make an effort to stop. I've benefited from going to the chiropractor the last several weeks. My hip/sacrum pain has decreased quite a bit. I just can't handle sitting on anything hard, and sitting in the car is sometimes unbearable. Doesn't look like we're going to be doing any traveling until after this baby comes. Speaking of the chiropractor, I have been going there weekly. I went there on Thursday and the receptionist said to me, "We've got to try to get you in again before you pop that baby out!" Hmm. Do I really look that huge? I just said, "Oh, no worries there. I've still got at least 3 months!" I don't think she really knows what a woman about to pop looks like.

Chocolate Milk Bubble Blowing

A few days ago, I taught Jack something new...
some may call it a skill :)

Blowing bubbles in his chocolate milk!

We also had fun popping the bubbles.

He was really concerned when they spilled out :)

He was more excited towards the beginning,
but I didn't have my camera out to get the really funny reactions.

Baseball Attempt

Daddy was trying to teach Jack how to play baseball.

He loves trying to hit the ball.

Yay!
