Happy Independence Day! We had a really fun weekend. We swam in the pool and went to a block party yesterday. Jack and Daisy were part of a mini parade with all the other kids. All the bikes and wagons were decorated in red, white, and blue. Jack insisted on going at his own pace, and even with our shortcut we were the caboose by about 5 minutes.
There was one of those inflatable bouncing castles and, after much convincing by me, Jack gave it a try only to find out that he LOVED it! He loved it, that is, until the big kids came in and got a little too rough for his liking. We also played with water (which helped with the heat...it was sweltering). Jack loved squirting people with little water guns. He also got into a war with Brother Smilowitz (in the bishopric) who was ruthless. I had to help Jack with pumping his water squirter (not sure what to call it because it was not a gun), and thus, got soaked as well. Very fun.
We also at some food and had some popsicles. Daisy loved her popsicle as you can see on her face. When we got home, Dad took Jack out to do some sparklers and we watched other people's fireworks from our balcony. I was surprised there were so many we could see! Jack kept saying "Oh, wow!" whenever there was a loud one. We had a great time celebrating and spending time with friends. Happy Fourth, everyone!
